CONTEXT
"La Ollita de Presión"


The artistic piece titled "La Ollita de Presión" offers a symbolic representation of Puerto Rico through the metaphor of a really special pressure cooker. Inspired by the story from our natives to the 2023, this work glimpses Puerto Rican heritage and experiences as ingredients that have been subjected to the pressure of time and circumstances. The pressure cooker thus becomes a powerful symbol of the tensions that have shaped our identity, both on the island and in the global diaspora with elite talents.




In this context, the work explores the duality of the pressure cooker, not only as a vessel subjected to pressure, but as a crucible where those pressures have cooked a rich mixture of culture, resistance and pride. The artistic representation highlights how, despite historical adversities and contemporary tensions, Puerto Ricans carry with dignity that "La Ollita de Presión", finding in it the unique flavor of the world talent of our existence.




The inclusion of the global diaspora in this representation reinforces the idea that Puerto Rican identity transcends geographic borders. "La Ollita de Presión" thus becomes a symbolic bridge that connects Puerto Ricans around the world, carrying with it the emotional burden of shared history, but also celebrating the resilience and cultural connection that persists through our generations.
